What is so special about private lessons?
Private lessons are customized training.
Lesson Fees: $25 for 20 min (fencing is very demanding)
One of the most important parts of ongoing individual lessons is the
teacher's assessment of the student's abilities and goals. These are
constantly evolving and are being re-evaluated as the student achieves
different types of growth. A good fencing teacher is always teaching
more than fencing.
He is teaching about "effort and commitment."
He is teaching
people about how to ask the right questions before one can achieve
answers. He is helping fencers to build their body's strength and
elasticity. He is constantly pushing the limits on technical
proficiency and revising the standards upward as skills evolve. He
shows students how to develop a fencing strategy by
1. Learning to assess an opponent's skills and inclinations
2. Learning to assess one's own skills and inclinations
3. Developing a primary plan of action with a back-up plan in place
He
teaches students that success is about learning and growing and giving
100% of one's self....and that there is never a loser where there is
learning.
